Yep! It also will give me something else to work on and strive for. I do a lot of crafts and have so many ideas for different projects, but I have never really gotten into music. I think it would be a lot of fun to learn and also a challenge.

Hey Amber, where are you going to get your uke?
I was looking on ebay, and they have them pretty cheap.

I'm going to get mine at Guitar Center so I can get it in person and see if the guy can pick one out that has good setup lol! The same one I'm getting is also on amazon for maybe a little more. The ukulele I'm getting is cheap at $31 plus I'll be getting good strings for $9. So $40 all together.

Awesome Very Happy I'm getitng a Mahalo U-30
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Mahalo-U-30-Painted-Soprano-Ukulele-H02940-i1547062.gc

Since you're getting a cheap uke, I suggest changing out the strings. The strings on cheap ukes are usually crappy. I've been recommended Aquila's countless times. Smile You should go with a theme - birds and maybe some flowers to add some more color. I was thinking of having my birds with Neelix flying and the 'tiels on a cherry blossom branch or something.

You could always draw a design on photoshop or something first too. :] I saved a couple "coloring pictures" http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-club/bird-fun-and-games/bird-coloring-pages.aspx?cm_mmc=5301502 that I will use as a reference. Just another idea!

Someone on DeviantArt had a really cool hummingbird on theirs:
http://phantomxfan.deviantart.com/art/Ukulele-188191923

Something simple and artistic like that would be cute! Or you could do full on color:
http://minuite.deviantart.com/art/Ukulele-Front-92177486

And here's another simple idea, although with an awesome octopus:
http://transbellum.deviantart.com/art/Octolele-208738027

In that one they did it like an outline but painted in some parts.

Boats & Birds by Gregory and the Hawk. It's my boyfriend and I's song. Even though he doesn't like ukuleles lol.

I like birds by The Eels, various Amanda Palmer songs (especially the Ukulele Anthem & Astronaut), various Bright Eyes songs, We will become silhouettes - The Postal Service (This guy does it particularly well http://youtu.be/EjIN8RkN-AE) I'll probably think of more.. haha. I keep finding ukulele covers on youtube and saving them.

I think this is the ukulele that I want! I'll probably get new strings for it.

Always good to get new strings. Cheap ukes come with crap strings. These are the strings I'm getting if I didn't already post them:

Haha, I'm teaching myself when I get one. There are so many online videos and resources that it's possible to teach yourself just fine.

Same here, I'll just teach myself.
I went to bird club last night and the speaker this month was a lady who does bird shows with her flock of parrots. And she offered me a free birthday party in return for a couple paintings! My birthday is on Wednesday so it was perfect timing. It's going to be the best birthday party ever! I can't wait!

We are leaving for a four day trip to Hilton Head South Carolina later today. I just hate leaving my birds! I guess I'll have fun. Hilton Head is an island. It's very cute there. We get to stay at a nice hotel for free, but my parents have to do a stupid time share presentation. My dad said the place they are doing the time share thingy at is going to feed the 'little kids' breakfast. I DO NOT like being called a little kid. I am a tween, thank you very much! I am going to be very upset if I end up having to sit at a table with a bunch of 4 and 5 year old 'little kids'.

I may still be able to get online though!

Yeah. Harris and Helen died. Sad
I'm not sure why Harris died. Haymitch pulled off one one Helen's legs trying to get her shell (I had other shells in there), and I guess that stressed her out and she lost more legs and a pincher and then died.Sad
